Holiday Cartoons

In the 20 years that I’ve regularly attended the Redford Theatre, Thanksgiving weekend has usually meant no movie as Redford volunteers busily set up the Christmas decorations that help attract many people to the theater at the end of each year.

First Impressions

When I see a movie at the Michigan Theater that is attended by a lot of children, I often wonder what they think of this magnificent movie palace. During a question-and-answer session before the Warner Brothers cartoons that were shown on the day after Thanksgiving (November 23, 2007), I got a peek into what parts of the Michigan most arouse their curiosity.

The Flow of Time

A unique atmosphere always surrounds the Redford Theatre’s last movie before Thanksgiving. It’s a fun time to look back on the rich, varied programming of the fall, and look forward to the happy burst of entertainment that always ends the year. It’s the “Friday evening” of the year, as we relax from another year of effort, and get ready to have some enjoyment before starting all over again.
